Pace Revision
Pace Bus, which provides bus service in n Cook, Will, DuPage, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties, is also in the process of reimagining its bus network and looking for input to help shape the future of suburban transit in northeastern Illinois through the Pace ReVision project. CTA’s Bus Vision and Pace’s ReVision projects have the shared goal of better understanding rider needs and gaining insights into how bus service should be improved. As such, both projects have produced extensive analyses of existing service in efforts to assess strengths and shortfalls in bus service as a result of changes in regional travel needs. CTA and Pace want to ensure the public voices their priorities and preferences as they pertain to bus service, tailoring outreach to the specific needs of each community. To ensure alignment across the region, CTA and Pace staff are actively coordinating on both projects on an ongoing basis.
CTA Frequent Network
In early 2025 CTA announced the Frequent Network which aims to ensure 10-minute or better scheduled service, all day, every day. The Frequent Network, which aims to expand all day, everyday service to 20 routes across the entire system by year’s end, builds on the Bus Vision Framing Report and with a goal of improving service to economically disadvantaged communities. As the next phase of Bus Vision rolls out, riders in the service area will be able to share their input on how this initiative is working for them, and how CTA can better serve their communities through attributes such as frequency, hours of operation, routing and access to service.
